a chance...

Woke up to an unexpected cloudy day.  Checked the forecast and it seems we have a 30% chance of rain overnight.  Checked the warehouse and found just enough parts to rig a temporary downspout for the barn gutter...just in case.  Note: Rumor has it that someone has finally bought the Big Bend Ranch Supply and is planning on opening a convenience store and perhaps a gas station.  53,63,50,0,B,0

Nice job on the temporary downspout rig. Hope you get some rain to harvest.

Interesting news about the ranch supply. Would love to hear that the Grub Shack is opening back up.

Hmmm, I wonder if I could retire and clean out my Pension and 401 K *and* make a living running the Grub Shack??? (Hey, gotta dream about something).

The Grub Shack is long gone...however there is a $10,000 septic system still underground on that vacant space. Perhaps a Chinese restaurant run by Mexicans will be part of our future.

Or, hey, maybe Keystone will run a pipeline with some cheaper gas down there....but you'd have to have something more than a septic tank to hold it.

Yes the Grub Shack is scorched earth. Sad to see it's gone. I sure maxed out my cholesterol a few times and loved it all. Jerry and Eva were good folks. After they left the next folks did well but I understand there were "issues. A store and gas station sure would be convenient. I've spent a lot of time in South County over the past 40 years and it's not only tough to live there, it's even tougher to make a living. If you can make it there you are indeed where I consider heaven.

That reminds me of a place I go to in Escazu, CR. Chinese restaurant
run by Ticos. If you are ever there
try the taco de huevos (egg roll ).
Food is better than many Chinese run places...Tsingtao too....go figure ?
