It should be noted that water catchments systems are rather vulnerable to damage caused by prolonged hard freezes. Any piping & valves exiting your catchment tank are especially vulnerable - if not properly insulated. And a freeze broken line or valve will usually result in all of the water stored in the tank - being lost. This can really cause a problem - with a one tank system - as you must haul water from another source or simply wait until it rains again. So keep that insulation in good shape! We didn't one year and lost all the water in our Mahan Hunt Camp water catchment tank.

Chupa better be snuggling up with you tonight! Way too cold and a little snow. Finally this year I have the right kind of winter clothes - no fashion statement, Carhartt 3 season jacket sure beats a flannel lined sweat shirt.

Tomorrow, I have to wrap the pipes and let the water run at night. Joy. I have nice warm clothes to wear so I need to put them on. Check and change ? the heat filter. Run the cars for batteries. I put some air in the tires. Yes, and make sure the pets are in the house (as usual).

I guess you could bring Chupa inside in a cage or something. You could surround Ben with barriers like bales. Would he allow you to cover him with heavy blankets or something so he could stay warmer?

I should have it that warm John, lol. Got my cat inside. fire going, I'm warm. I've had the weather page down there pulled up beside mine for most of the month. Motivation to get property and move there asap! I wish I could drive down and look at at the two I have my eyes on but that gas money would be better spent on actual purchase of land or construction of my small hut to live in.

Ronald, wisdom in those words, I spent maaany a cold day fixing peoples frozen water systems for people and friends over the years.

Hey Margery, have you ever watched a rodeo? I say that in jest, but you get the idea :) Good luck to all you Texans that do not usually get this freezing weather!

I’ll gladly switch your forecast with mine, BTW, I’m in Maryland.
